Игра Ecco the Dolphin для Sega Mega CD немного отличается от версии игры
ECCO The Dolphin для Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. В игре имеются новые и переработанные раунды, так же музыкальное сопровождение было переработано. Сюжет игры повествует нам о жизни дельфина Экко, и в тот момент, когда он был на поверхности, начался шторм, и его стая куда-то пропала, позднее от кита Big Blue он узнает, что такой шторм случается раз в 500 лет. Ему предстоит решить множество загадок и головоломок на протяжение большого количества красивых уровней с подводными пейзажами и всё для того, что бы найти свою стаю.
В Азии данная игра вышла под названием Ecco the Dolphin CD.
Вторая часть игры Ecco: The Tides of Time для Sega CD.
