Gex: Enter the Gecko является продолжением первой части Gex. Теперь игра стала трёхмерной, то есть из 2D платформера игра перенеслась в 3D пространство. Гекс как всегда занимался своим любимым делом – смотрел телевизор. Вдруг экран замерцал и на нём появилось лицо Rez. После чего к Гексу в комнату заходят люди из правительства, они делают Гексу предложения от которого он не может отказаться. После чего Гекс снова должен отправиться в измерение СМИ (the Media Dimension) и в очередной раз победить Rez'а. В измерении СМИ Гексу предстоит путешествовать по различным телевизионным каналам: мультфильм (Toon TV), ужасов (Scream TV), научно-фантастический (The Rocket Channel), футуристический (Circuit Central), Кунг-Фу (Kung-Fu Theater), Исторический (The Pre-History Channel), Rezopolis и Канал Z (Channel Z). Для того что бы открыть новые каналы (уровни) и сразится с Rez'ом, Гексу предстоит собрать определенное количество пультов на различных уровнях. Как и в предыдущей части, Гекс может бить хвостом, использовать хвост в качестве пружины и ловить мух и цепляться за край чего-либо своим языком. К сожалению теперь Гекс может карабкаться не по всем стенам. Самое интересное нас ждёт в конце где Гекс узнает что Rez является его отцом. Так ли это, каждый решает сам.
