Игра Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side является как бы продолжением первой части Eternal Champions для Sega MegaDrive / Genesis. В версии игры для Sega CD имеется, множество нововведений и улучшений и это - не считая улучшенной музыки и добавления видеороликов. Были добавлены новые игроки, в том числе и те, которые не вошли в официальную версию игры для MegaDrive. А так же новые приёмы в их числе и “ Cinekills”. Теперь все игроки не только положительные, среди них есть и злодеи и преступники. А так же появился антиперсонаж Тёмный Чемпион. Вам так же предстоит сразиться и с ним. Сюжет остался схожим. Вам предстоит сражаться за свою жизнь, но главная изюминка в том, что вы и так фактически мертвы. Поэтому если вы всех победите, то вам будет дарован шанс начать всё заново.
